Einbauzeit für Fahrzeuge ca.,5 Stunden. Die Einbauzeit kann je nach Zustand und Ausstattung des Fahrzeugs abweichen. Kenntnisse in der Karosserieelektrik sind Voraussetzung. Anleitung ist nur gültig für Fahrzeuge mit SA 60 (Telefonvorbereitung). Der Einsatz Konsole Telefon und die zweiteilige Kabelführung sind farbabhängig und muß laut ETK gesondert bestellt werden. Die Halterung zur Aufnahme der Kommunikationskomponente wird als Audiogeräteträger bezeichnet. Der Audiogeräteträger ist bei SA 60 oder SA 606 oder SA 609 oder SA 67 verbaut. Bei Fahrzeugen ohne Audiogeräteträger wird zusätzlich ein Grundhalter und eine Halterung SE-Gerät benötigt, die laut ETK gesondert bestellt werden müssen. Installation time approx..5 hours which can vary depending on the condition and equipment of the vehicle. Knowledge of the body electrical system is required. These installation instructions only apply to vehicles with option 60 (telephone provisions). The console insert for the telephone and the two-piece cable guide are colour-dependent and must be ordered separately as specified in the EPC. The support fixture for mounting the communication components is referred to as the audio units carrier. The audio units carrier is fitted in conjunction with option 60 or option 606 or option 609 or option 67. For vehicles without the audio units carrier, a basic support bracket and retaining fixture for the transceiver will be additionally required and must be ordered separately as stipulated in the EPC. bparticular care must be taken when installing cables or lines to ensure that they are not kinked, bent or damaged.c On vehicles with the audio units carrier, the transceiver is fitted in the audio units carrier behind the left-hand luggage compartment trim. On vehicles without the audio units carrier, the transceiver is fitted in the left-hand side section behind the left-hand luggage compartment trim. All the jobs described refer to LHD vehicles, the relevant procedure is mirror-inverted on RHD vehicles. Item numbers refer only to the overview or to the text under the corresponding figure. Checking Microphone Line bonly necessary if hands-free set inoperative during function test.c F B Remove finisher surrounding ashtray. Raise carpet so that the -pin socket housing and -pin pin housing of the telephone wiring harness are visible. Connect tied-back -pin socket housing () to -pin pin housing (). 6. Preparing Installation of Centre Console F B Pass spiral cable () from keypad handset () as illustrated through console insert (). F B Plug 8-pin pin housing (B) of handset extension (B) into 8-pin socket housing of eject box (). F B Fit eject box () in console insert () making sure handset extension (B) is not trapped. Place cable guide () about spiral cable () as illustrated. F B bclip cable guide () closed such that the last bend of spiral cable () is not visible at plug connector (A).c F B bplug connection (A and B) must disappear under the foam rubber guard of the handset extension.c F B Insert preassembled eject box () in removed centre console () and clip in position. bmake sure that the cables are not trapped.c F B Adhere sealing strip () as illustrated in support bracket (). Fit interface () in support bracket (). Adhere sealing strip () on interface (). F B Remove reinforcement ( and ) from centre console () and break at prepunched edge (). Fit remaining reinforcement piece () in console (). F B Place prepared interface () on removed centre console () and secure (clip) to support bracket (). Connect plug connector C, -pin socket housing of eject box into interface. Connect plug connector C, 6-pin pin housing of eject box to plug connector D, 6-pin socket housing of interface. 7. Installing Centre Console F B Connect plug connector D, 8-pin pin housing to tied-back 8-pin socket housing () of telephone wiring harness. badhere anti-rattle pad () (for installation instructions, refer to Page ) to wiring harness such that it covers all plug connectors (D + and C + D).c The tied-back 6-pin socket housing from the telephone wiring harness and the antenna cable are not required. afit cable guide () as illustrated and clip in console insert () such that both connection leads (C and C) on the right and the cable of handset extension (B) on the left are fitted under the retainer of cable guide (). F B Connect plug connector (A) of keypad handset spiral cable to 8-pin socket housing (B) of handset extension, if necessary push back excess cable under cable guide (). Place left-hand plug connection next to cable guide (). Adhere sealing strip () as illustrated on cable guide (). 8. Installing Transceiver only vehicles with audio units carrier F B Adhere sealing strips () to transceiver () as illustrated. F B Fit transceiver () in support bracket () and firmly secure with hexagon screw () in retainer (). F B Connect adapter lead (E) with 5-pin socket housing (E) to transceiver (). Connect 6-pin pin housing (E) to tied-back 6-pin socket housing () from telephone wiring harness (). Screw angled pin housing () from the antenna cable onto transceiver (). badhere anti-rattle pad (5) onto wiring harness such that it covers the plug connections ( and E), the -pin socket housing of the antenna lead to the centre console and the -pin socket housing of the compensator connection lead.c F B Fit speed nuts () on audio units carrier (). F B Slide transceiver with support bracket into audio units carrier and secure with hexagon screws (). Secure wiring harness with cable ties. 9. Installing Transceiver only vehicles without audio units carrier F B Adhere sealing strips () on transceiver () as illustrated. F B Fit speed nuts () on support bracket (). Place support bracket () on basic mounting bracket () and secure with nuts () and hexagon screws (5). Fit edge guard (6). F B Retainer () must be bent approx. 0 upward as illustrated prior to installation. Fit transceiver () in support bracket (). Hook retainer () into position and firmly secure with hexagon screw (). F B Fit speed nuts () on inner panel in left-hand side section. F B Connect adapter lead (E) with 5-pin socket housing (E) to transceiver (). Connect 6-pin pin housing (E) to tied-back 6-pin socket housing () from telephone wiring harness (). Screw angled pin housing () from antenna lead onto transceiver (). badhere anti-rattle pad (5) onto wiring harness such that it covers the plug connections ( and E), the -pin socket housing of the antenna lead to the centre console and the -pin socket housing of the compensator connection lead.c F B Fit connected transceiver mounted on support bracket and mounting bracket in side section as illustrated. amake sure not to damage any cables when fitting in position. F B Firmly secure basic mounting bracket () with hexagon screws (). Secure telephone wiring harness () with cable ties () to basic mounting bracket (). 0. General Notes Assemble vehicle in reverse order of disassembly. Reconnect battery. Print out defect code. Carry out function test by testing the hands-free set. bif the microphone is not operable, check the plug connection as described under Section 5, Page.c Mounting instructions for anti-rattle pad F B Remove protective film on adhesive strips () and adhere to under edge of wiring harness (). Place anti-rattle pad () about wiring harness () including connector housings and secure with additional adhesive strip () on anti-rattle pad (). Remove end adhesive strip (5) and adhere on anti-rattle pad ().. Encoding This system does not require encoding.. Function The function of the cellular telephone is described in the Cellular telephone operating instructions.
