Keep on. ============= R e d a k t i o n: Thomas Nilsson Mardalsv Ängelholm Tel: SWB-info SWB on HCDX: SWB member information: Dateline Bogotá : SWB latest issue/archive: QSL, kommentarer, mm. Christer Brunström: Radio Free Asia, Lampertheim khz med Year of the Ram QSL-kort samt dekal. Hämtas i Vibblehallen. /TN) page 1 Anker Petersen: I am back from holidays in Morocco and the Canary Islands where I had possibility to hear about 50 local stations, most on FM and a few on MW on my portable SANGEAN 909. The only SW-station I heard from Agadir, Morocco, was : 6090, R Nigeria, Kaduna. (By the way three Nigerian MW stations from Ibadan were also audible on 567, 576 and 657 khz with the same programme.) QSL. R Lowland med e-brev och 6 foton. Ron Howard: Hi Everyone, Amazingly hot in the city today C!! How can it be this hot in January here? Much too hot for me. My wife and I are just here for the weekend. Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Will be back at the radio dials on Monday morning. Best regards. Robert Wilkner: Found our old pennant posted on social media. (Thanks a lot for sharuing this nice pennant with us. By the way - who is the bicycle girl? /TN) Log (UTC) Correction in last issue: 7200,092, the log by Wolfgang Büschel on 7200,092 should read Nov20 not Jan20. Sorry for my misprint. DO 3940 Jan Cupid Radio spelade Guns & Roses. DO 3945 Jan R. Vanuatu (presumed), & For a long time I have been checking this frequency weekdays after a strong Japan ( RN2 ) signs off about 1400 and always found a weak carrier that I assumed was Vanuatu, so surprised today to hear a weak station here playing non-stop EZL songs; played You are the Only One SEVEN times; poor with CODAR & ham QRM; never any announcements of any kind. Very nice to have them running audio, as long as the transmitter has been on the air anyway! Am page 3 fairly certain it was them, based upon signal strength. Clearly not RN2 with an extended schedule (Ron Howard, Asilomar State Beach, CA, USA) Jan 23 - Indeed it does seem that Radio Vanuatu is on a new extended schedule. Noted again after the 1401 sign off of a strong Japan ( RN2 ). Today played You are the Only One at Yesterday they played that same song at 1419, 1432, 1449, 1501, 1513, 1526 and Today much weaker signal than yesterday. https://app.box.com/s/0ts116fuei7yldvi88080swfkhsfd139 contains an audio from yesterdays reception of You are the Only One. Jan 24 (Saturday) - With RN2 (Japan) signing off early on the weekend (0900*), was able to catch Radio Vanuatu (3945, nothing on 7260) earlier (1317) than weekdays; the one time I tuned in today of course I heard You are the Only One ; incredible how any times they play that one song. I had always hoped that instead of just leaving the transmitter on with dead air long after 1215, that they would continue with some type of audio and now my wish has been granted. Am very happy! (Ron Howard) 3945 Jan R. Vanuatu (presumed). Continues with their new schedule; playing non-stop EZL pop songs; no announcements of any type (Ron Howard, Asilomar State Beach, CA, USA) 3945 Jan R. Vanuatu (presumed), now heard daily; another day of You are the Only One played at 1413, 1432 and 1516 (Ron Howard, Asilomar State Beach, CA) 3945 Jan Radio Vanuatu, Port Vila - Enten Lagoon, SIO 252Heute ist das Signal aus Port Vila *etwas* stärker, also das S-Meter bewegt sich doch fast bis S3 an meiner Pazifik Beverage. (Christoph Ratzer) 3945 Jan Radio Vanuatu, Port Vila - Enten Lagoon, SIO 252. Reception today was outstanding!!! NEVER heard Vanuatu so good. But A/K works for us! Interesting that the anthem is played at 1845 UT. Please sit down before you listen, Thomas! Here a direct link for SWB: https://soundcloud.com/christophdx/3945-vanuatu ratzer Der Pazifik entpuppt sich als wirklich schwieriges DX. (Christoph Ratzer via A-DX) SWB-members - You have to listen to the fantastic recording above, amazing clearness and quality! /TN 3945 Jan I also checked this frequency when Christoph Ratzer sent me a mail with an excellent and remarkably clear mp3-file of this faint signal. Unfortunately my background noise level is too high, about S3-4, and the signal is not strong enough to overcome the noise so it is very difficult to hear more than parts of the audio. The first time I noted a carrier here was on Jan 1but always too weak for anything. Strongest signal here was on Jan 11. Thanks to Ron & Christoph for the exciting logs. It seems I have to wait for better conds before this one shows up with decent audio. TN page 4 3945 Jan * RN2, . Sign off announcement;japanese and English. Thanks very much to Sei-ichi Hasegawa for providing Hiroshi's current schedule below, which motivated me to check them out : carrying CNR-11 programming, which was // to the CNR-11 stations 6010 // 7350; almost positive in Tibetan (definitely not Chinese, per a native speaker of Chinese). Back in 2010, I use to follow CNR-11, as they carried the Holy Tibet show in English for a brief period. Still wish they would bring it back again! After 1400, Gannan PBS on 3990 // 5970, no longer carrying CNR-11 programming (not // 6010 nor 7350); 5970 with adjacent moderate to heavy QRM; 3990 the poorest reception; Gannan went off at 1412*. I observed them from tune in at 1535 till tuned out at 1603; playing the usual contemporary Christian music ( You Rock my Soul , etc.); It is three o'clock and this is the Cross Radio, 88.5 FM ; in the past always gave ID a minute or two before TOH; never remember them giving it exactly at TOH. While listening to The Cross R., this went off unexpectedly at (Dave Valko) 4760 Jan AIR Leh (tent) and AIR Port Blair again with equal stre ngth at Weak audio, sounded EE. I have followed the stations until their sign offs, see enclosed screenshots. AIR Leh (?) signed off slightly after 1630 and AIR Port Blair slightly after page 5 This corresponds to info in WRTH and by VU2JOS from 28 Nov 2014 seems to fit: kw Leh s 0130/w kw Port Blair (Sat, Sun 1730) On Jan 25 AIR Leh (?) signed off at 1630 and AIR Port Blair was on extended schedule until sign off first at Almost 100% sure that there is a mention of Port Blair in the ID. Further checks on Jan 27 showed that AIR Port Blair signs on about 2355 on 4760,0. Two hours later AIR Leh signed on about 0210 on 4760,008. AIR Leh seems to sign on at 4760,008 and most likely then slowly drifts down to just a few Hz below 4760,0 in the afternoon as seen above. Latest check on Jan 31AIR Leh signed on first at 0230:25, so slight variations obviously occur. A s you can see there is some variations in the displayed frequency. This is caused by slight instability in my Perseus and also a Mestor shortcoming: Mestor can't utilize Perseus calibration. When creating Mestor recordings there will be a minor Hz deviation in the exact frequencies (10Hz or so). This deviation seems to be hardware unit dependent. You h
