MSc Accounting and Finance Domaine : Droit, Economie, Gestion Mention : Comptabilité-Finance Organisation : Ecole Universitaire de Management Lieu de formation : 11 Boulevard Charles de Gaulle - CS Clermont Ferrand Cedex Niveau d'entrée : BAC+4 DESCRIPTION OBJECTIFS The School of Management, member of the IAE Network, University of Auvergne has established a Centre of Excellence in the field of Education, Research and Training for Accounting and Finance. This Centre of Excellence has existed for more than 30 years, principally for the studies of Chartered Accountancy and Private Asset Management. The Master's degrees associated with this distinction have had successful rates of professional integration. The MSc in Accounting and Finance is a two-year programme (4 semester programme). Students will enter directly in the 2nd year. The two semesters are taught in English and, at the end of the second semester, students have to complete a 3 to 6 months practical training or a Research Project. As indicated by the French Ministry of Education and Research, foreign students will attend a French as a foreign language course (20 hours) to help them better integrate and appreciate the French culture. The objectives of the program include: To increase the global mindset and cross-cultural exchange of our student body and improve the international adaptability of our graduates in banks, large corporations and international audit firms. To meet the professional expectations and international standards for Accounting and Finance, To welcome International students into an all-in-english Accounting and Finance program. ADMISSION CONDITIONS D'ADMISSION Entry Requirements An Honours bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline. Candidates are expected to have received good training in accounting and have a basic knowledge of finance. Candidates must have successfully completed 4 years in higher education Institutions, in order to enter the second year of a master's degree: either a four-year bachelor's degree, or a threeyear bachelor's degree and one first year of a master's degree. Candidates who are not native English speakers or who have not completed their first degree at a university in which the language of teaching is English will match our English Language by holding an English language qualification to the right level: IELTS: 7; TOEFL IBT: 85, Cambridge English advanced certificate, TOEIC 850. A letter of motivation is also required that will show the candidate's own academic achievements, his/her special academic interests, why he/she wants to enrol in the programme. INSCRIPTION Application International students will first check if their country of residence belongs to the procedure CEF countries list established by Campus France: In this case, application to the master's degree and for the visa will be done through Campus France and through application form to be downloaded on this page. Those two procedures are mandatory. Complementary Qualification «Introduction to Research» The University School of Management offers all the students enrolled in Master 2 programs a complementary qualification entitled Introduction to Research. The main objective of this qualification is to offer training in research methodology to students aiming at applying for a PhD program in Management Sciences. This training is free for the students who are already enrolled in a Master 2 program in the University School of Management. This qualification will allow students to prepare a PhD project by: - Defining a research topic - Choosing a research method and a research subject - Adding value to their research by drafting a research paper and a research report. Teaching Organization: «Introduction to Research» takes place in two phases: During Semester 3, the applicants attend all the courses of their Master 2 program like the other students enrolled in the Master speciality. During Semester 4, the applicants attend all the courses of their Master 2 program like the other students enrolled in the Master speciality, plus specific courses related to the complementary qualification of Introduction to Research (Advanced Theory of Organizations : 30 hours of lectures, and Epistemology and Methodology : 72 hours of lectures).
