No 1-2_Additional Requirements...7 A5NU S 1 General 1.1 Scope of Specification This specification covers the general requirements governing the design, inspection, testing, and preparation for shipment of piping valves and supplements the Item Purchase Description shown on the Bill of Material in the RFQ (Requisition) for the A5NU - EPS Unit Expansion project at Synthos Dwory Sp. z o.o. Oświęcim. 1.2 Manufacturer Requirements Acceptable Manufacturers Valves shall be produced by manufacturers identified on the Fluor Standard Approved Manufacturers List approved by Synthos Equivalent Manufacturers Products made by reputable Manufacturers and of comparable type, quality and characteristic may be submitted for evaluation Refurbished Material Valves furnished shall be original Manufacturer s production. Reconditioned/refurbished valves shall not be furnished. 1.3 References The publications specified in the Item Description shown on the Bill of Material in the Requisition and noted herein form part of this specification. Each publication shall be the latest revision and addendum in effect on the date recorded on PO. All valves shall conform to the applicable provisions of these publications to the extend specific within this specification European Codes and Standards EN Metallic Products Type of Inspection Documents PED 97/23/EC Pressure Equipment Directive 96/61/EC Integral Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC Directive) EN Flanges and their joints Circular flanges for pipes, valves, fittings and accessories, PN designated Part 1: Steel flanges 1.4 Submittals Supply of Drawings Supplier shall furnish with quotation dimensional drawings or catalogue cuts for all valves. Dimensional drawings and catalogue cuts shall include: A5NU S Basic valves dimension (including end to end) Gear operator dimensions. Nonstandard dimensions. Detail of the bevelled for weld-end valves Drawings and catalogue cuts shall include materials of construction with referenced material specification. Supplier shall be prepared to furnish, on request, dimensional drawings showing stem or shaft sealing design and number, size of packing rings or stem seals required for each type and size of valve in the PO. Total weight of the valve including operator shall be shown on the drawings and catalogue cuts Maximum field pressure test Supplier shall furnish the maximum allowable shell and seat test pressure that valves can be subjected to, during field pressure testing, for valves not manufactured in accordance with standard. 2 Products 2.1 General The valves shall meet all the requirements of EN/API standards and this specification together with related attachments and Data Sheets Requisition Bill of Material. All manufacturers shall be certified in accordance with PED 97/23/EC Verification of conformity shall be in accordance with category III. All valves shall be procured in accordance with the PED 97/23/EC and supplied with CEmarking accordingly. It is manufacturer s responsibility to comply with PED 97/23/EC requirements, to obtain a conformity assessment and to CE-mark the valves 2.2 Special Service Conditions Composition of the suspension in the reactor : expanded polystyrene suspension in water with small amount of styrene, sodium acetate, bentonite-gelatine, poliethylene wax, hexabromocyclodecane, benzoyl peroxides, peroksybenzoesan tert-butyl and pentane. Suspension density: 1018 kg/m3 Dry EPS density: kg/m3 Temp. 40 C Viscosity cp (assumed viscosity for water at 40 C) EPS beads distribution: A5NU S Operating pressure of pipeline 12,3 bar g Operating temperature of pipeline 140 C Design pressure and the highest allowable pressure 14,1 bar g Design temperature and the highest allowable temperature 200 C Lowest allowable temperature 5 C 2.3 Design Packing Systems Unless specified otherwise in the Item Description of valve, packing shall be graphite, braided, no asbestos material, suitable for 200 C for steam or petroleum services, and containing a sacrificial metal corrosion inhibitor, with braided graphite fiber rings on the top and bottom of the packing stack. Graphite material shall be chloride free Operators Manually operated valves shall not require a force exceeding 350N on the hand wheel or wrench or lever to operate the valve. Lever operated valves shall be furnished with individual levers, wrenches, or handles. Gear operators shall be fully enclosed type with cast housing, furnished with a position indicator. Designs capable of being misassembled such that the position indicator could indicate an orientation different from the valve internals are not permitted. Enclosures fabricated from sheet metal are not permitted. 2.4 Inspection and Testing Generally, valve inspection and testing shall follow requirements with according to API or EN. 2.5 Acceptance Criteria General Examination shall be in accordance with the procedures as indicated in these Technical Requirements Pressure testing A5NU S Pressure testing of valves shall be in accordance with the API 598 in conjunction with appropriate valve standard. Pressure testing of austenitic stainless steel valves shall conform to the following additional requirements: Only water containing less than 30 ppm (50 mg/litter) chloride ion shall be used for pressure testing (for valves of carbon steel 200 ppm) PMI (Positive Material Identification): These materials: alloy steel, stainless steel and nickel-copper alloy require traceability and shall be identified, controlled, and documented Cleaning Valves shall be internally clean and free from dirt and debris. 2.6 Marking Valves shall be marked in accordance with the requirements of PED 97/23/EC (must have CE mark) and ASME/API/EN Standards and Item Code and Technical Specification of Synthos Dwory Sp. z o.o. Oświęcim. Valves with a preferred flow direction shall have the direction of flow cast or steel stamped on the valve body. Each valve shall be clearly identified with country of origin. 2.7 Preparation for shipment After inspection and test, valves shall be completely free of water, dried and prepared for shipment. Adequate protection shall be provided against mechanical damage and atmospheric corrosion in transit, and for at least six months outdoor storage at jobsite prior to installation. All openings shall be covered or plugged with substantial wood, metal or plastic closures, securely fastened and suitable for prolonged outdoor storage prior to final installation. For check valves, the disk shall be secured in the closed or open position to prevent damage. Ball and plug valves shall be in the open position for shipment Gate, butterfly and globe valves shall be in the closed position for shipment. Valves shall be shipped with the correct stem packing installed and with the gland follower sufficiently tightened to prevent loss of packing gland bolting during shipment. Valves shall be prepared in such a manner as to avoid damage or atmospheric corrosion to inside or outside surfaces or parts, during storage or while in transit. Use API 600 as a minimum standard of acceptance. Unmachined exterior surfaces of the shell of ferritic valves shall be painted. Austenitic stainless steel valves shall not be painted. A5NU S Austenitic stainless steel valves shall be protected from chlorine attack such as might occur from exposure to saltwater spray or atmosphere during shipment, cleaning, fabrication, testing, and storage. Protection shall also be provided if shipping by truck in areas where road salt is used. Consideration shall be given to enclosing or wrapping in a vaporproof barrier material. Unless export packaging is specified, valves may be shipped loose or packed in a box or crate. If export packaging is specified, valves shall be shipped in wooden boxes or crates, individually or collectively, in a manner to prevent shifting within the container. Threaded and socket weld openings shall be closed with plastic or metal protectors to exclude dirt and other foreign matter from the interior of the valves. Flange facings and butt welding ends shall be protected over the entire gasket seating surface or weld end with high-impact plastic covers, and secured with lock plugs (integral or separate) or steel strapping. Plastic end protectors of at least 12 mm thickness, secured with at least 4 bolts or with steel strapping, are also acceptable. Cardboard or pressboard end protectors (which absorb water) are unacceptable. 2.8 Certification The pressure-containing/retaining parts shall be provided with a material certificate to EN (refer to section No and PED 97/23/EC). Valves for IPPC Directive requirements (96/61/EC) shall be provided with certificate and test report belonging to it. 3 Attachments 3.1 Requisition - Bill of Material - A5NU_EPS RQ 3.2 Attach.
