A history of two competing metaphors in postwar neoclassicism. BOOK PROJECTS MARKET AS A MODEL: NEOLIBERAL REASON AND LATE NEOCLASSICAL ECONOMICS This book intends to offer theoretical genealogy of neoliberalism through a reading of the history of the neoclassical tradition (ranging from the Chicago approach with its insistence on the categorical efficiency of markets to the post- Walrasian skein of neoclassical economics with its emphasis on market failures and remedial institutional design) and its correlate, Austrian economics, of their differences and struggles, of their transformations through and in response to a number of controversies, and of their shifting roles in shaping the agendas of economic research and policy debates. The aim is to move beyond the commonplace understandings of neoliberalism as a range of economic policies (e.g., deregulation, privatization, trade liberalization, price stabilization) and to identify and engage critically with the very core of the onto-political project of neoliberalism: the governance of the social through the interface of homo economicus. SEXUATING CLASS: A PSYCHOANALYTICAL CRITIQUE OF POLITICAL ECONOMY (with Ceren Özselçuk) This book intends to offer both a critical appraisal of the history of the difficult yet persistent relationship among the various traditions of Marxian and Freudian thinking and an alternative framework to articulate them together in a manner that envisions communism not as a utopian ideal but rather as a new way of relating to enjoyment a key and foundational psychoanalytical concept that the authors believe modern political economy cannot afford to ignore in its analyses of the forms of contemporary capitalism as well as their emancipatory alternatives. 6 EDITORIAL WORK FOR ACADEMIC JOURNALS Editor of the art/iculations section of Rethinking Marxism Member of the Editorial Collective of Toplum ve Bilim Member of the Editorial Collective of Rethinking Marxism: A Journal of Economics, Culture, and Society Associate Editor, Rethinking Marxism Co-editor (with Kenan Erçel) of Somuttan Soyuta Emeğin Halleri [The States of Labor From Concrete to Abstract], a special issue of the journal Birikim Co-editor (with Jack Amariglio) of Globalization under Interrogation series for the journal Rethinking Marxism.
